If your computer doesn’t have a firewire cable, then i suggest purchasing another format.
Flash and Hard Disk Formats
This format is basically the same as avi video files you play on your computer. Its quite easy to manage and transfer hard drive footage to your computer via a USB cable. The larger the hard drive size the more fooage you can record at once. Normally the come in 100GB plus worth of recordings. The are great for newbies, who want a camcorder which is simple to manage. The flash based format, allows you to insert flash discs which each of there individual size. The larger the size on the flash disc, the more you can obviously record.
Storage format should be one of your considerations in choosing which digital camcorder to buy. Remember that the different kinds of storage formats have a great impact on whether it is user friendly or not. Shoot Good Digital Video With Your Camcorder
Let me tell you from experience how important it is to know how to shoot good digital video with your camcorder before going on that vacation or filming that big event. When I was getting married my sister offered to film the happy day for me with her new camcorder, I agreed as it would save money on the wedding as a videographer could get quite expensive.
Let me tell you how wrong I was, the digital video was dark, shaky and blurred anytime she went into zoom or moved around the room. The sound was off and muffled and it was more of a headache to watch rather than a joy. In a nutshell, I wish I spent money on a good digital video shooting.
I don’t want people to make the same mistake that I did so to spread the word on my learning experience I would like to pass on some great tips on how to shoot good digital video with your Minidv camcorder.
Tip #1 - Do not record while walking or moving about as the digital camcorder cannot stay focused on a moving object. Choose a place to stand and begin by recording a starting point for a few seconds before moving onto the next object. Slowly and carefully pan the camcorder to the next point of focus and hold there for a few more seconds before you stop shooting.
Tip #2 - Avoid excessive zooming of objects, not only does it kill the camcorder battery faster, it can give the viewers a crazy headache. If there were a moment you’d like to catch up close, stand still and take your time while zooming and shooting video, also try to avoid any quick motions, as the image will blur.
Tip #3 - Make sure that the lighting around you is bright enough and do not point the camcorder lens directly facing sunlight, not only can this damage the video camera lens, it will also blacken the images making for an unpleasant movie. If you plan to be indoors, I suggest you invest in a camcorder light attachment that can easily be placed onto the video camera and turned on if needed.
Tip #4 - Last but not least, my favorite camcorder accessory by far has to be a Tripod. You can buy a cheap little mini table tripod for simple videos or you can invest in a larger stand up tripod for longer shooting of video. By using a tripod when recording, you can be assured that your images will not be shaky nor will the movie look amateur.

Not as sharp as a tape camcorder or even a digital still cameras, but the video and audio quality is surprisingly good.
You can buy one of the high dollar camcorders if you like (that has the same features)or ultra Flip with it’s low-light abilities….. Which by the way trump even $1,000 camcorders.

Is This Digital Camera Better Than The One You Just Bought?
I’m quite the photography hobbyists, and own several digital cameras and DSLRs. I’ve been in the market lately for a smaller compact digital camera when I don’t feel like carrying my digital SLR camera around. Previously, I’ve had some good luck with other Canon Powershot cameras and the A590 IS asked look like a reasonable candidate. In this review, I’ll try and take a look at some of the more advanced features as well some of the basic features of the camera. Most cameras in its class, have a wide range of manual features. But, the Canon A590 IS offers some pretty beefed-up manual features as well.
Well, there is one thing that is hard to fake online, and is actually pretty easy to find online, if you know where to look. That one thing is consumer choice.
Unlike some of its competitors, the image stabilization is not a gimmick here. I was able to get pretty clear and concise photos, even when taking pictures several stops under the preferred shutter speed. The good news about this, is that it’s quite possible to get decent indoor pictures without resorting to the cameras flash even at 35-50mm f2.8 1/10.
Before buying a SLR you should decide if you want manual or auto focus (AF or MF). If you want AF you should know a few important details about these cameras: The electronics can let you down when you need them the most. The battery consumption is very high. The AF lenses can be pretty difficult to focus by hand especially when you want to switch to manual focus.
Some will even have lists of their top ten, twenty, or fifty cameras listed for you. If everyone else is buying those cameras, there must be a good reason.
Here’s a few select choices I found from on of my favorite shopping sites. Most of these are compact cameras, as that’s by far the most popular category.
First of all, we have the Canon PowerShot SD1100IS digital camera. It’s got plenty of resolution, with 8MP, and some nice features like image stabilization and optical zoom. It goes for about $150 these days. Secondly we have the PowerShot SD880IS from Canon. It’s a few more bucks, at around $250, but comes with 10MP, a 4 times zoom lens, and a few other nice features.
The A590 doesn’t make the same mistake as many other compact cameras, and sacrifice the optical viewfinder for a larger LCD. So even if you’re in a situation, where using the LCD is not a good option the viewfinder will come in handy.
To sum up all the above it’s very important for you to know exactly what type of focus you want to use because otherwise you’ll be spending a lot of money on a camera that won’t be able to make the pictures you want.

Should You Buy a Camcorder?
Camcorders these days are not what they used to be. Camcorders were first introduced n the 70s. They were huge, bulky, had poor picture quality and the sound was even worse. People loved them. As technology progressed the camcorders got smaller and had better quality sound and picture.
In the beginning of the 2000’s people considered the camcorders to be small but the prices were not. A cheap camcorder would cost you five hundred plus dollars.
The camcorder that are out now have great sound and picture and are so small that you can put them in your pocket.
How does that benefit you?
If it fits in your pocket you can take it with you no matter where you need to go. You can record anything that is your fancy and it doubles as a camera.
They come with computer software so you can turn your moments in home movies on DVD’s. They have built in memory that will allow you sixty minutes of stored movie time and a battery that will last you eight hours.
The software that comes with it also allows you to make photo albums with frames, edit your pictures to perfection, and even blends movies together so you can keep them to watch whenever you want to.
This is great. If you have kids you can record their first everythings. First Holidays, first time they crawl, even getting on the bus for the first time.
When your kids are grown you can take your movies of them and combine them. You will have a very nice Dvd of your child growing up throughout the years. You’ll be amazed at how much you have forgotten. There also great to send to the Grandparents.
You’ll never even have to buy a tape.
You’ll never have to forget anything you don’t want to when you can carry your camcorder in your pocket.

Your Options In Digital Cameras Available Can Be Overwhelming
During my career as a photographer, I picked up lots of ideas that would help a newcomer start off on the right foot. The tips I am going to share in this article are my personal suggestions and should not be taken as state of the art truths.
The main benefits of SLR cameras are the detachable lenses and the viewfinder. With the interchangeable lens facility, you can use the ones designed for a certain purpose once at a time, or even combine them for better results. This is impossible to achieve with regular body cameras. Then, with DSLR’s, the image on the viewfinder is rendered through the lenses, which isn’t the case with other attachable lens cameras that may produce a different image than the one shown on the LCD screen.
Samsung S630. This budget digital camera is called Samsung S630 and it’s one of the easiest to use. You can easily take good looking photos with it, which makes it a good choice for beginners on a budget. The resolution is 6 megapixels and it also comes with a number of modes, which allow you to take photos in different situations. I’m talking about backlit subjects, close-ups or sunsets, to name a few. A nice option for beginners is attaching small audio clips that last for 10 seconds to the photos you take.
3. Don’t get cheap when buying for a tripod. If you are on a low budget, it would be better to wait, save some money and buy a good one. Cheap tripods will break when you need them mostly, shake when the wind is blowing and sometimes not keep your camera at the right angle. You know the saying: you get what you pay for; this is especially true with tripods.
4. The power is in the lenses. I know it sounds like a quote from a Jedi master, but it’s as true as it can be. There is a tremendous difference between the quality of a picture taken with, say, an 135 prime L series lens and the low level stock one that comes with each digital SLR camera. Experiment with a few good ones (I would recommend any Canon L series lens) and choose your preferred one.
Keeping your old film SLR is also not out of question. The prices in this market are constantly dropping, so it will definitely not be long until you can get a full featured DSLR for half of today’s price. In the mean time, you can the feel of digital photography by scanning your pictures onto your hard drive.
As a final tip, don’t forget to have fun! Photography is a great hobby and can be lots of fun. Stay creative. Take lots and lots of photos. Explore. And, again, have fun!

What Are The Top Notch Good Digital Camera Features?
Are you looking to get some great underwater shark pictures in your quest to be National Geographics next big photographer? Or maybe you just want a camera that you don’t have to worry about around the boat, beach or pool. While you can get an additional add-on waterproof case for some existing camera, they can be expensive, bulky and awkward to both pack and use. Why not get a camera that’s already waterproof without needing to spend extra money on accessories.
There are several models out there, but my favorite choice would have to be the Olympus Stylus 790SW waterproof, shock proof, dust proof, and freeze proof. The 790SW is the successor the the 770SW, which is still available, but a little harder to find. The biggest difference between the two cameras, is that the older 770SW can go be used in up to 33 feet of water, whereas the newer 790SW can only be used in up to 10 feet of water. Olympus apparently decided that the demographic for the 790SW weren’t big deep sea divers. Probably makes sense.
Being a 12 mega pixel camera may seem great at first glance. To others however there is always the concern that Canon is trying to shoehorn far too many pixels onto a image sensor too small. That does seem to be the case here, and unfortunately the image noise on the PowerShot G9 is a bit too noticeable for a camera in this price range. Especially with pictures taken at higher ISO levels. For 99% of the people that buy this camera anything over 8 mega pixels is really a waste. Unfortunately, consumers have been educated by the manufacturers to believe that higher megapixels mean a better camera. In reality, as proven by the Canon G9 more megapixels is actually a flaw.
The 10-megapixel Canon EOS 40D is a bit pricey compared to some of the other semi-pro digital SLR cameras in the market. But many reviews say that the 40D is worth your money, what with 6.5 frames per second shooting speed, magnesium body, good water resistance, and built-in sensor cleaner. The EOS 40D also has a nine-point autofocus which improves accuracy. The LCD has a live preview feature and shows the camera settings on another LCD screen at the top part of the camera. This camera is ideal for action shots because of its fast shooting speed.
While there are some other quirky / novelty waterproof cameras, (GoPro Digital HERO 3 Sports Wrist Camera and the Jazz Waterproof 3 In 1), none match the Olympus 790SW in terms of quality and durability.
It still takes pretty darn good pictures and videos even in non waterproof environments. But, if you do feel a need to swim with the sharks, or follow in the footsteps of Indiana Jones, the 790SW is the sidekick for you.

It Helps To Know Where To Look For A Good Digital Camera
I have recently moved from my old Sony DSC-P8 to Sony CyberShot DSCW120 and I must say that so far I’m thrilled with my choice. I did my homework in advance, read all catalogs and reviews I could get my hands on and settled on this Sony.
The Smile Shutter made the whole difference. My 2 year old daughter is quite hard to catch smiling, but with this nifty little feature everything is a piece of cake: I only have to turn the option on and the camera takes care of the rest.
It helps if you have a friend that’s good at this stuff to talk with, or if your really lucky a helpful salesperson. Do try and stay away from the commission guys/gals, as they’re motivations will always be a little suspect.
The viewing screen is two and a half inches, which allows the user to se the entire picture clear. The camera has red eye correction capabilities. Another east to use camera is the PowerShot SD890 IS. This camera has 10 megapixels with five times optical zoom capabilities.
What it does mean though, is you should be sure to let the sales clerk at your local over priced camera store know that even though you love the personal service they provide, you’d be even more happy if they could match Jim Bobs price.
The S5 IS has 8 megapixels with twelve times optical zoom and four times digital zoom. The SX100 IS has 8 megapixels with ten times optical zoom and four times digital zoom. All of these cameras have red eye correction and face detection capabilities.
All in all, I’m fairly satisfied with this camera. Other than the zooming issue in videos, every feature works as advertised and beyond reproach. I can definitely say it’s a great value for the money spent and quite a good point-and-shoot.
